Access to
Safe Drinking Water

Access to safe drinking water for domestic use and animal consumption in Mara has been a serious challenge. This is mainly because Narok County is a semi-arid region whose population also practice livestock keeping and pastoralism. This project main aim is utilize alternative mechanisms to promote access to clean drinking water in selected villages and institutions with the BCFK’s project sites in Mara.

To address access to clean water challenges, Basecamp Foundation Kenya in partnership with Aqua Nirvana Foundation (ANF) implements water projects in schools and communities. Infrastructure constructed include installation of Modern water purification system, community rainwater harvesting systems through installation of guttering and rainwater harvesting systems in schools and health centres , Water Pumping Systems and Spring Protection Measures in different institutions and schools.
