Community
Based Education Interventions (CBEI)

At Basecamp Foundation Kenya, we believe that the most sustainable means of transforming communities is through education. We are currently working with 20 schools in Maasai Mara, strategically supporting them through a number of interventions to ensure that learning is accessible, comfortable and convenient for all.

Through partnerships, we have built and improved infrastructure such as classrooms, ablution blocks, dormitories, teachers' residences, kitchens/dining hall, ECDE playgrounds, school compound fencing and establishment of rain water harvesting systems. These facilities ensure learners have conducive environment to learn. Additionally, we have conducted Board of Management trainings to strengthen schools' leadership, provided ECDE teachers' capacity building to enhance early childhood training and offered STEM training for teachers to promote innovation in teaching.

To address learners social challenges, we run the Bonga for Schools program, which targets adolescent learners, and provides them with safe spaces to talk through their challenges and seek solutions. We also organize and conduct parenting seminars where parents are trained on responsible parenting ensuring that we effectively tackle crosscutting issues such as the FGM, school dropouts, early pregancies and early marriages. Furthermore, our school feeding program ensures that learners have access to meals, supporting their health and ability to focus on learning.

This holistic approach empowers learners, educators and parents to build stronger, more resilient communities.
