Meet Mary Masikonde, an animator of Olkimitare Bonga Center. Due to her skills and passion to serve the community, Mary is spearheading Covid-19 awareness at Aitong health centre. “Am currently serving as community health volunteer (CHV) at Aitong health centre” Mary said.

“Am very pleased to say, its my certificate of women empowerment course at Mara Discovery & Community Empowerment and various trainings by Basecamp Foundation Kenya that have earned me admirable skills and knowledge to be appointed as the health volunteer” Mary explained:

“As a CHV, I work in the community household to household to sensitize the community about Covid -19, I teach the community how a person can get corona virus, signs of Corona virus and also how to prevent Corona virus. In addition, I also teach about vaccination for different disease, I teach women the importance of family planning.
